European Business in China - Business Confidence Survey 2021

The EU-China Business Association and the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce have the pleasure to invite you to a webinar focused on the results of the annual Business Confidence Survey 2021 of European Business in China. The survey was conducted by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, in cooperation with Roland Berger.

This webinar will take place on June 24, 2021 at 11h00 am (Helsinki time).

After surviving the COVID-19 pandemic, European companies in China found themselves in a resurgent market that was able to get production back online, and are building resilience in China to secure their position in the market. However, the still-looming economic consequences of the pandemic, an increasingly politicised business environment, decoupling and tech divergence, and long-standing concerns over market access, SOEs and a level playing field still present major concerns to European companies moving forward.

Join the event to learn the latest data collected from the European business community in China in the following areas:

  • The impact of the pandemic

  • Revenue and profitability

  • Supply chain shifts and decoupling

  • The politicisation of business

  • Decarbonisation

  • RCEP

  • Market access developments

  • Level-playing field and SOE reform concerns

  • IPR protection and enforcement

  • HR concerns

Kiinan Greater Bay Area: mahdollisuudet suomalaisille yrityksille

Kiinan Greater Bay Area: mahdollisuudet suomalaisille yrityksille

Yhdistys järjestää yhdessä FinnCham Hong Kongin kanssa webinaarin keskiviikkona 9.6.2021 klo 9.00 Helsingin aikaa.

Webinaarin aiheena on Kiinan Greater Bay Area: mahdollisuudet suomalaisille yrityksille.

Greater Bay Area eli GBA sijaitsee Etelä-Kiinassa ja sisältää Hongkongin ja Macaon erityishallintoalueet sekä yhdeksän Helmijoen suiston alueella Guangdongin provinssissa sijaitsevaa Manner-Kiinan kaupunkia. Kiinan tavoitteena on luoda yli 70 miljoonan asukkaan alueesta maailmanluokan talous- teknologia- ja innovaatiokeskittymä, joka haastaa vastaavat alueet maailmalla (esim. Piilaakso, New York).

Hongkongin rooli on monipuolisin GBA:n rahoitus-, logistiikka- ja kaupankäyntikeskuksena. “Kiinan piilaakso” Shenzhen on alueen innovaatiokeskus ja Guangzhou taas kauppa-, ja teollisuuskeskittymä ja liikenteen solmukohta. Macaosta puolestaan halutaan turismikeskittymä.

Greater Bay Area on myös Kiinan varakkain alue. Lisäksi alueella on pisin kokemus kansainvälisyydestä muun muassa liiketoiminnan, matkustamisen sekä kuluttamisen kannalta. Hongkong on erinomainen välietappi muualle Aasiaan.

Lifa Air on terveysteknologiayritys, jonka tavoitteena on tarjota puhdasta ilmaa kaikille. Lifa Air valmistaa Kiinassa hengityssuojaimia usealla tuotantolinjalla ja omaa pitkän kokemuksen niiden volyymituotannosta. Puheenvuorossaan tuotannon johtaja Eppu Mäkipää jakaa oppeja Kiinassa toimimisesta sekä Lifa Airin tavoitteesta viedä suomalaista terveysteknologiaa ja puhdasta ilmaa maailmalle.

Tervetuloa mukaan!

Women in Leadership

The Finnish Dutch Chamber of Commerce and the Norwegian Dutch Chamber of Commerce warmly welcome you to the event “Women in Leadership” on June 3rd at 16:00 – 17:30 CET. Join us to follow discussions with our guest speakers who reflect on their experiences and share their views on what is female leadership and what is its future. As a participant, you will also have an opportunity to engage in discussions and share your thoughts with others.

This topic is important to us since women have played a crucial role in history even though not always very well recognised. Today, however, female leadership is finally starting to gain recognition, as we have for example seen with the emergency response to Covid-19 in many countries such as Finland, New Zealand, and Norway. Despite the improvements, there is still work to be done and therefore we want to support the topics of gender equality.

Our speakers include Ann-Nina Finne, Global Public Affairs Leader at Ikea, and Ellen Aarvaag Groeneveld, Managing Director at Elkem Maritime Center. More speakers to be announced. The event is moderated by Andrea Orsag.
